School is almost over, which can be a sign of stress for parents on what to do to keep their child engaged, entertained and safe during the three months off from school. Whether your child is a budding artist or loves to learn about nature and science, or has their sights on playing basketball, Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department will put a smile on their face with fun and exciting summer camp options.
 
Located at 42 parks throughout the County, Miami-Dade Parks Summer Camps run from June 12 through August 11, 2017 (select sites open through August 19). The camps will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offer 7:30 a.m. early drop-off and 6 p.m. late pick-up options.
Parents can mix-and-match their camp options, so their children can experience a new adventure each week. There are camps for those who enjoy outdoor sports challenges, like golf and fishing, as well as nature-based camps with eco excursions, art camps, the list goes on and on! Summer Camps are also inclusive and managed by Miami-Dade Parks’ Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Learn more about accessibility at Miami-Dade Parks.
 
“Miami-Dade Parks Summer Camps provide kids with active recreation experiences that are designed to enrich their lives. Utilizing our world-renowned parks and attractions, these camp provide a place to build friendships, discover and explore their interests and learn more about themselves,” said Miami-Dade Parks Director George Navarrete.
