Support the Miami Children’s Health Foundation 5k Run/Walk During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

Hello! My name is Melanie and I am the 5k Hero for this year’s Miami Children’s Health Foundation 5k Run/Walk Presented by Sabadell United Bank, taking place Saturday, Sept. 19!

At 12 years old, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Although it has not been an easy journey for my family and me, I have never lost hope. As the 5k Hero, I am determined to make a difference by raising awareness for pediatric cancer and inspiring others to live life to the fullest.

Did I mention that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month? What a better way to raise funds to support other children like me at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and of course, stay in shape! I want to be able to help people like other people have helped me. We need to find a cure because no child deserves to ever be sick!

The MCHF5K Run/Walk, which will kickoff at the Coral Gables City Hall, will feature a Kids Race, Kids Fun Zone, Vendor Village and custom dry-fit t-shirts and medals for all participants.
