Have you ever dreamed of holding a “fury baby” in your arms and sharing interactive activities with the most exotic animals in South Florida? At the Zoological Wildlife Foundation (ZWF) you can achieve this dream by seeing animals right in front of you and learning from a knowledgeable guide about what makes each creature so unique. The Zoological Association of America (ZAA) ranks the ZWF No. 21 of the top 25 Zoos in the United States. The Zoo houses dozens of exotic species from domestic animals and primates to large predatory, birds and mammals. Some of their private collection includes but is not limited to: Gibbons, Mandrills, Mangabeys, Squirrel Monkeys, Two Toed Sloths, Lemurs, Coatimundi, Owls, Snakes, Alligators, Crocodiles, Giant Anteaters, Tamanduas, Porcupines, Dromedary Camels, Foxes, Wolves, Tigers, Lions, Snow Leopards, Clouded Leopards, Cervals, and mischievous Capuchin monkeys – like those seen in many movies.

You can schedule an intimate guided tour, private encounter, or photo session that will sure be a memorable one for you and your family. On the wildlife tours you will take a trolley around the 5-acre zoo, making several stops where your tour guide will educate you on the conservation status of the animals seen. Your kids will have the opportunity to share fun interactive activities that include: feeding the camels, full contact with reptiles, birds, primates and other small mammals just to name a few! You can finish the tour with a special private encounter, made by appointment only, to interact with some of the fury baby felines.

But the ZWF is not only about interaction with the animals, it is also an educational foundation whose principal mission is to raise public awareness about wildlife, preserving and breeding endangered species, and rescuing others. Their diverse team of animal lovers helps save creatures that are disappearing on a daily basis. This encourages visitors to get more involved and take care of these amazing creatures. The educational programs hosted by ZWF cover relevant topics such as animals’ native habitat, diet, endangered status, and more. As founders Mario and Maria Tabraue told Kiddos Magazine, “There is no better way to preserve wildlife than through education.”
