Dive into Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits at the

Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science

From soaring through the air to balancing high above the ground, extreme sports come to life this summer at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) in Downtown Miami.

In Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits, you’re invited to challenge yourself as you jump, fly, dive, and climb through some of the most exciting sports in the world. This high-energy experience blends adrenaline and discovery, revealing the science and psychology behind how athletes perform at their very best.

With the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 building, the exhibition also features Science of Soccer, a special section developed by Frost Science all about the world’s most popular game. Test your skills at interactive stations like MultiBall, where you can kick, react, and score while learning how timing, speed, and accuracy come together on the field. Ever wondered how players curve the ball or sprint so fast? It all comes down to physics and how the body generates power.

Extreme sports may look like they’re only for daredevils, but they actually require focus, quick thinking, and control. Your muscles, brain, and senses work together to help you react in an instant, stay balanced, and move with precision. You’ll also discover how athletes take on powerful forces like gravity, speed, and changing environments.

Inside the exhibition, you can become part of the action:

· Test your balance on a high-line, just like real slackliners

· Race through a parkour course using speed, strength, and strategy

· Step into a wingsuit simulation and experience how air resistance and gravity shape every glide

Younger explorers can scale kid-sized climbing walls and discover how grip strength and body positioning help climbers reach new heights. When it’s time to rest, climb into a portaledge, a hanging tent used by climbers who spend nights on the sides of cliffs.

With hands-on challenges and real stories from athletes around the world, the exhibition offers something for both kids and adults to enjoy together.

And the adventure doesn’t stop there. Families can explore Frost Science’s three-level Aquarium and come face-to-face with incredible marine life from South Florida and beyond. At the Frost Planetarium, guests can enjoy immersive shows under a stunning 67-foot dome, while additional exhibitions throughout the museum offer even more hands-on ways to explore science.

On view in the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery for a limited time, Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits is included with museum admission and runs through Monday, September 7, 2026. The exhibition is sponsored by iFLY Miami and was developed and produced by Science North in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre.

From extreme sports to the ocean’s depths, and even into outer space, Frost Science is the place where curiosity turns into adventure.
